Every good & perfect gift is from above..

One of the greatest friends I have ever had once asked me,

“Do you ever get excited for the next day with a sense that God has something big coming your way tomorrow?”

At that moment I didn’t really understand what he meant by that..
but for some reason that question has stuck with me ever since.

In general, I would consider myself a happy person.

I believe that I make it my goal to love life and enjoy it to the fullest.

I am truly blessed.
With an amazing family and a wonderful life.

However, just like anyone else, I can easily loose sight of how blessed I am and get caught up in my worries, hardships, and fears.

This is something I’ve allowed to happen in my life way too much recently.

I would go to bed wishing I didn’t have to wake up the next day because it was just too stressful to bare the thought of.

It came to a point where I realized that I was never created to live a life like that! God has so much in store for me! And satan has no right to get in my head that way!

So I prayed..

I woke up one morning and asked God to send a blessing my way that day.

Maybe that seems like a selfish thing to pray..
but i needed something to look forward to.

To be completely honest, there wasn’t really an insanely big blessing that came to me out of the blue. I didn’t win the jackpot or anything like that.

What was different about that day, however, was that I became aware and grateful for the many things in my life that I on an average day take advantage of.

I was happier that day then I have been in a really long time.

I can now say that I understand completely what my friend meant when he asked me that question…

And ever since that morning that i prayed that prayer I have felt blessed beyond belief.

Four days ago I decided it was time to buy a new car. I prayed to find a good deal, and also put a status on facebook in hopes that other people would pray with me. That very night, looking on craigslists, I found a really good deal on a new car! The exact CRV I wanted & perfectly in the price range I could afford.

However, when I got to the dealership, I was disappointed to find that the CRV was in a lot worse shape then the salesman had lead me to believe.

In that moment of frustration, a random guy walked up to me and my dad. He told us that he had a CRV a lot nicer then the one we were looking at and that he would sell it to us for a cheaper price. So my daddy and I went to go check it out.

The moment I saw that CRV I fell in love with it!

When my dad and I turned the car on to take it for a test drive, the Christian radio station turned on. Also, the man had a bible verse on a note card in his visor.

I soon learned that this man had a special needs son. I don’t know his story entirely, but he said that they were struggling financially and had prayed that morning to quickly find someone who would want to buy their CRV.

We serve such an amazing God, don’t we?

So I am writing all of this to say:

Sometimes, as Christians, I think we forget that God is a loving daddy. Just like any good dad.. He LOVES to bless His children.

I believe it gives God joy to bless our lives.
It gives Him joy to see the fire of happiness that His blessings set in our hearts.

Personally, I believe God can’t wait for you to let Him bless you!

So.. I dare you to pray the prayer I prayed.

Ask Him for a blessing..

Then sit back and watch your entire outlook change as happiness and excitement floods your life.

“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.”
Psalm 40:5
